What suits your young adult? Uni or a trade?
While social pressure today is highly focused on youths achieving a high result in the HSC to enable further study at university level, the real truth is, not every student is university oriented.

Some young people are naturally oriented to more practical and hands-on activities. In these circumstances, trades or industry based employment opportunities can be a very rewarding career option.

Aside from the current economic crisis, Australia is facing a skills shortage. This means trades people will have increased job options in coming years.

A major consideration when deciding on industry based employment or a trade is the financial reward of beginning work straight out of high school. A recent study has indicated it can take up to 10 years for university students to catch up to the financial situation of someone who started full-time employment straight out of high school.
